VCI

Strength

Strong, stretch paper with flexibility and shock-absorbing properties such as crepe often form the basis for the packaging materials. A polyethylene layer is added to keep the moisture out (Montancrepe®). An impregnation with VCI anti-corrosion properties can also be applied (Montancrepe® ACV/VCI). These packaging materials are also perfectly suited for logo printing or coloured PE coating.

Reinforced

Meuwissen recommends reinforced fibre materials if extra high tear resistance is demanded of the packaging. Meuwissen Steelex® products meet these demands.
Steelex® K type, based on crepe, reinforcement and PE coating is a particularly superb metal packaging material.
For the highest barrier properties, Meuwissen has developed Steelex® K with multi-layer technique. VCI anti-corrosion impregnation can also be applied when excellent long-term protection is required.

Anti Corrosion

Why rust2.jpg

Meuwissen applies anti-corrosion impregnation in two different ways, depending on the metal to be packed.
The first method involves the addition of a contact inhibitor, which acts at the points where metal and packaging material come into contact with each other.
Unusually shaped products are handled using a volatile corrosion inhibitor (VCI).
This packaging method is also suitable for export requirement, where environmental extremes may be encountered.
