An extra strong, top-quality packaging material, which uses heavy creped paper, reinforcement netting, and an LDPE coating. The crepe is made from Kraft paper with long virgin fibres, which is pH-neutral and technically 100% chloride-free.
Crepe gives Steelex® KK-13 its flexibility and has better stretch properties than qualities based on non-creped paper. In addition, crepe paper has a high moisture absorption capacity; the creped paper will easily absorb all the moisture inside the packaging. The LDPE coating makes Steelex® waterproof, so no water will penetrate the packaging.
The reinforcement netting gives Steelex® KK-13 a high tear resistance. It uses an interlocked material superior in quality to scrim reinforcement in which the threads lie loosely together. The Tensile Energy Absorption is many times greater than that of qualities based on non-creped paper. This is an important issue when handling coils, bending sheets, and overlap-roof-tile wrapping pipes, wires, and sectional materials.

Even on sharp edges, creped paper will give the ultimate protection: Creped paper has a higher burst resistance than non-creped papers. For an even higher degree of protection we recommend Steelex® KK-13 ML. This is a reinforced quality with a multi-layer coating developed by Meuwissen Industrie. The special coating makes this wrapping material not only waterproof, but also gas-proof and vapour-proof, with improved burst and tear resistance and TEA.
